Finding My Focus With Sabrina Webb

In my most recent post about Spirit Junkie Masterclass, I mentioned that you will cross paths with the people who you are meant to meet - and today that belief was re-affirmed when I had an intuitive consulting session with Sabrina. Prior to chatting with her, I was deep in the comparison game. I saw the amazing work everyone else was doing, and I loved reading their powerful messages.

I was majorly jealous.

She immediately honed in on my limiting language and reframed it. My tendency for subconscious comparison was breeding feelings of seperation, when what I really craved was collaboration.

My session with her was a perfect cocktail that paired spiritual shifts with practical steps that left me with a fresh perspective on my goals. I realized that I have been giving at my own expense and setting myself up to become burnt out. I also realized that anytime we try to move forward without truly facing what has kept us small in the past, it feels a little like this:

I have a habit of doing work pro bono, and as of today have began to re-appraise those arrangements that haven't proven to be mutually beneficial. My best work, and yours as well, is worthy of compensation, and the people you are meant to work with will respect your worth without hesitation. If you have fallen into the same habits as me, I urge you to take an inventory of those working relationships and re-negotiate the terms. It's a daunting task. I still haven't decided how to approach some of those relationships - but I do know that it is absolutely necessary. Setting loving, energetic boundaries regarding money was one of the steps that Sabrina recommended. Another task that I am eager to undertake is to get clear on my role models. My vision board has pieces referencing people who have managed to live fully in their passion: Bo Burnham, my favourite comedian who built a career out of his clever songs posted to YouTube.

(Also, Hugo LeClercq, stage name Madeon, who was only 11 years old when he started his music career. He is now 21 and the artist behind my favourite album.) There's no question that these two are prime examples of integrating passion and career, but they are admittedly far from the field that I am in. Sabrina challenged me to explore people in the social media realm whose work and career I admire. One woman immediately came to mind: the fabulous Gala Darling.

The more fine-tuned my vision for my future becomes, the quicker it can begin to manifest. I've narrowed my focus to "Social Media Mavens" and I have already benefitted so much from following their adventures - as if anyone needs another reason to follow Gala's blog religiously. I just ordered her book, Radical Self Love, and can't wait to delve further into her world.

Finally, and most importantly, Sabrina helped me realize that outside validation is fleeting, and that a solid foundation of self worth negates the need to look outside for it. Other people will begin to respect your worth once you embrace it yourself - not vice versa. Today, I am moving forward with my money-mindset, my vision board and my self-worth in alignment with my goals.
